Scott James is an English singer-songwriter. Citing influences as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell. His work is imbued with the efforts of a conscientious songwriter. Combining an introspective style with traditional singer/songwriter genre, he has a unique standing among artists. His intimate shows have brought him a dedicated following with performances known for their poignancy.
Born in Gloucestershire and raised in the historical regions of The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. His cultural landscape of words and imagery contrasted sharply to that of urban contemporaries in London and New York. Choosing to write songs reflecting his inherited surroundings, he says he is drawn to English poets like John Clare, Keats and Edward Thomas for the same reason.
Following successful shows including London’s O2 Academy2 in Islington, Dalton's The Rocksteady, Cheltenham Literature Festival and an array of Coffee House circuits, Scott is making a name for himself.
His debut EP Lilac Sky is out now.
His new single 'Wild Life' will be released on 14.06.26.
